So long, 2013!

Well, keeping with habits from last year, this post is a little late. Oh well, I guess that's another thing to add to my list of resolutions for the new year. 2013 was a very busy year! We had ups and downs and all arounds........ goodness, it's exhausting just thinking about it. Sadly (or maybe luckily for you depending on how much you like our blog), I only posted 7 blog posts all last year. I guess all of our busy-ness doesn't always mean life is exciting enough to blog about. :)

To make sure you are all up to date, here are some of the highlights from 2013:

  • 2 new jobs (1 new job for Lyle and 1 new job for me)
  • 2 visits from my sister Amy (and my first whale watching trip)
  • 1 visit from my entire family during the 4th of July holiday
  • 1 visit from my good friend Faith
  • multiple visits from our favorite little bro. Bryan
  • 4 different church callings between Lyle and me
  • 1 new car
  • 1 new puppy, AKA "Mack Attack" as my nephew Carter likes to call him
  • Successful completion of level 1 puppy training for Mack and us
  • 1 trip to Minnesota (and my first trip to the Mall of America)
  • 1 trip to Idaho for Christmas with my family.
  • 15 hour days for Lyle during the holiday season (and he thought he would have a less stressful season after leaving JCP)
  • 1 new nephew, hence the trip to Minnesota
  • 1 Primary Program thrown together in about 1.5 months, because they called me as the Primary Chorister in September and the program was in October!
  • 1 trip to the Tulip festival for the first time ever. I was in HEAVEN! I LOVE tulips!
  • A few trips to the beach
  • 1 terrible chest cold for both Lyle and me, leaving us sick all last week and with a rough cough still this week.
  • Too many bowls of Clam Chowder (can you really have too many though?)
  • Lots and Lots of fresh Salmon! (Perk of living in the Seattle area #12)
  • Some visits to Molly Moon's ice cream (Perk of living in the Seattle area #15)
  • A couple of trips to the Blueberry farm (and about 25lbs of blueberries, which resulted in some great blueberry pies!)
  • Lots of fun memories and lots of things to look forward to again this year!

Here are some pictures of the highlights of this year.

And because I haven't shared enough pictures of Mack.....

This is the picture that we saw on the shelter's website that made us fall in love with him before we adopted him.

Lyle's new best friend.

We hope you all have a marvelous 2014 with all of the happiness and "dreams-coming-true-ness" that is possible.
