Mack's day at the beach

Lyle decided to take us camping to Lake Sylvia state park. It was a spur of the moment idea and we were only there last night. Things have been very crazy in our families for the past couple of weeks, and we really needed a little break, so we decided to go for it. We loved getting a chance to get away from technology, phone calls, stress, etc. (Though, Mack and I are not sure how we feel about the sleeping in a tent and getting dirty outside part). Lake Sylvia is very close to the Pacific Coast and this morning, before we headed home, we decided to take the extra time to drive out to Ocean Shores, Wa, a funny/cute little town right on both Grays Harbor and the ocean.

Mack enjoyed his very first trip to the ocean and since you have nothing better to do (wink), here are a bazillion pictures from the trip.

(He contemplated drinking the water....not a good idea.)

(Here he is running out of the water sporting the "batdog" look.)

(Here he is preparing to shake off some water...)

(...and here he is mid-shake! I don't know how Lyle caught such a great picture, but it's hilarious. Notice his back left paw is off the ground. Sometimes when he shakes he uses enough force that his back feet can't hold on!)

(Really, we could have stayed there all day if we had planned it into our trip better. It was fantastic.)

(The coolest entrance ever.)

(This was on the walk to the beach. I promise I didn't even edit this photo to make the sky look like that.)

(This was the view from our campsite.)

It has been a whirlwind 24 hours, but it was lots of fun. I'm glad summer stuck around long enough for us to have more fun in the sun!
