Anyone want a pig? (no, not Lyle)

So, one of my most favorite wedding gifts is this pig....

He is ceramic, heavy, and bizzare....

Notice the large, odd hole in his back.....

I'm not really sure who we got him from, he was separated from his card when we opened him. But it is definitely the weirdest present that we got, and because I like weird things, it's my favorite. 

Lyle, doesn't really understand and has made mr. pig hang out in our second bedroom where no one can see it. When we got him, he had spices in his gaping hole. Lyle didn't want to use him as a spice rack. Honestly, I don't know what to do with him, I thought about turning him into a chia pet, but Lyle didn't like that idea either...

More honestly, I have clung to this pig because it is one of the only wedding gifts that we got that still reminds me of our wedding. Everything else has melted into our lives wonderfully (gift cards, money, towels, etc.) and is just a part of everyday life now. But every time I look at this pig, I remember Lyle's face when we opened it and the laughter that followed. It reminds me of the happiness and love that surrounded that day. I know it's weird to have a ceramic pig be symbol of joy, but that's what it is for me. 

Alas, dear pig, you are off to a knew home, if anyone will take you...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Today is my sweet husbands birthday. I am really the luckiest girl in the whole world. He is the sweetest and kindest man I know and he understands my weirdness. We both find ourselves laughing all the time and just having a blast being together.


For Lyle's birthday, I made him go on a treasure hunt around the apartment for 26 little love notes.

This is one of the more creative notes. :)

I made Lyle a fantastic breakfast of bacon, lil' smokies (my family's style), and eggs benedict. It was very good if I do say so myself. My hollandaise sauce making skills are impressive. 

Lyle received a plethora of presents for his birthday:

His AeroGarden. He has been begging for one for the longest time. It's funny though, because we won't even get to use it till we move back to Rexburg. His family will have a real garden. :) 

He got a couple random decks of cards. (always a good present for him in case you don't know what to get him yourself)

Kimberly and Caleb got him this build it yourself car thingy. He loved every minute of building it. Boys are weird. 

AND 

Last, but not least!!!

I got him a bouquet of flowers. (I'm not good at flower arranging or taking pictures, but you get the idea.) I'm a firm believer that boys should be allowed to receive flowers on special occasions too. 

I stil need to make him a birthday cake, and I will also be making him a Thai sticky rice/mango dessert.

I am so lucky that I married my best friend. He makes my life so happy!

happenings this semester

In case those of you who have not been in Rexburg to experience our IBC company, I thought I would post a few pictures to let you all see what Lyle and I have been up to. :)

I was on the marketing department for our company and Lyle the COO (Cheif operations officer). These are the posters that I helped to design for my company. The vision came out of my head and I had good people on my team who helped me implement them.

 This is the booth that we made. It had "real" rocks on it (they were made of concret) the booth weighed over 800 lbs.

These are various weaves that we sold as bracelets. 

One of my team members had the great idea of putting samples of our products in random places for them to gather attention.

This may not look like a whole lot. But using 22 people to make a company and have it up in running after only knowing each other for 2 weeks is TOUGH! And the fact that we had to actually purchase cord, make products, and get people to buy them is even TOUGHER! All in all, it has been a hard semester. But we have survived and now only have 2 days left!!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if there is one thing that I have learned, it is this:
