I'm still amazed...

Isn't life crazy? The answer is yes, in case you were wondering. Most of the time I don't know how I manage to get from one day to another. I am constantly doing this or that and I really don't know where time goes. Somedays I take a step back and look at my life and just stare at it in amazement. Two jobs, full time classes, running a company for said classes, etc. There is, however, one thing that amazes me more than anything else and that is my wonderful husband.

I honestly don't know why he puts up with me. There have been so many days this semester that I have broken down and bawled like a baby. I cry hysterically and freak out and he is always there to calm me down and make me feel better. It's really not fair to him. He is working 40 hours a week as a manager, and has an important role in our student run company. Yet, he always has a positive attitude and a smile for me.

I really don't know how I would be surviving this semester if he wasn't in my life. I couldn't ask for a better companion to spend forever with. He makes me laugh, he makes me smile, and sometimes he dances with me in the kitchen.

Regardless of how stressful life is, no amount of stress and frustration can ever make me forget how fantastic my life is. I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. I get to spend my spare time (and the rest of eternity) with my very best friend.

I love you Lyle!

one day...

So, yesterday was Valentine's Day. I, like many other sad and pathetic people, ran to WalMart last minute to grab things to make a nice dinner for Lyle. I was kind of frustrated and annoyed with the amount of people there (the fact that I had to wait in a long line didn't help). The people in front of me took 5 years and I was growing more impatient by the second. I got to the front of the line and the cashier scanned all of my items and most of the person's behind me. I was about to be really annoyed with this guy. How in the world did he not pay attention enough to see where my stuff ended and this other girls stuff started? Well, I took a deep breath and realized that he was married (ring on the finger). He was probably stressed because he had to work on Valentine's Day and the girl behind me didn't seem like she was having a great day either.
So in the 5 seconds it took to realize this guys mistake, I decided that it didn't matter. The total amount of the things that he charged me that were hers was about $10 and I thought "Why not?" The girl said "No, I really feel bad, I can pay for my own stuff." The cashier said, "I'm sorry, I feel bad. We can refund you the money." And I said, "No, it's ok. It is not a big deal and I can afford it, so happy Valentine's Day." I smiled and tried to show that I really wasn't bothered by it, picked up my stuff and left the store.
I'm not trying to toot my own horn, it's obvious I'm not a saint from the annoyance that I was feeling earlier. But, I have to say that I felt pretty good having paid for some of that girls stuff. It wasn't anything huge, but maybe (just maybe), she really needed the $10 for something else. I could have been an answer to a prayer that she had for having a little extra money for the month. I really don't know. I will most likely never see her again and wouldn't recognize her if I did. But I'd like to think that she was able to acknowledge a little kindness and spread it around to some other people. I'd also like to think that the Cashier didn't feel bad and showed extra kindness to the next people that came through his line.
Long story short, one day I would like to be able to afford to buy random people's groceries for them. It's a random goal that I just decided to add to my list. I want to pay for a large/looks-like-their-struggling family and maybe make their day.
