So, there were a lot of things that happened in September and October, and I meant to blog about it. Really. There is something about having nothing to do that makes the days pass slowly and much too fast at the same time. I really have lost track of what day it is many times over the last few weeks. Since I will be working full time starting Monday, I figured I'd better get caught up now, or I never will.
So, since I am terrible and I'm sure you are dying to know what is happening in my life, I will update you quickly.
September
September is my absolute favorite month. It's a month of state fairs, leaves changing colors, cool crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and my birthday and anniversary. Here's a long post about some things that happened in September.
Birthday
My birthday was September 15th. Thank you to all of you for your birthday wishes on Facebook. This was my first birthday away from my parents and your posts helped me to feel less homesick! I am now "half way to 50," as Lyle pointed out to me (what a sweetheart). He had to work that morning, so I spent the day working on my birthday cupcakes and getting the house ready for guests.
Lyle's Aunt Gayla and her family came to have some cake and ice cream. I probably gave them a sugar overload, but I really appreciate them coming down. They have been so good to us and it's really great to have some family nearby. They brought us some wonderful homemade jams and syrup that are so yummy.
Here are some pictures of the cupcakes I made for my birthday. Unfortunately, I don't have any really cool cupcake stands (especially one that could hold the cupcakes to spell out the word "Birthday") so, they are just flat on the table.
The flowers out here have been phenomenal. Really. I told Lyle, that I might make him get me fresh flowers every week, they are after all only about $15.
Anniversary
On the 26th was our 3rd anniversary. He was such a sweetheart and took me on a nice little getaway. We went to the Salish lodge in Snoqualmie. They had an amazing restaurant, where we got the most impressive meal I have ever eaten. We also stayed the night and got a massage at their spa. It was really the most wonderful anniversary we have had. Last year, we weren't able to do anything really exciting for our anniversary. We had just moved back to Idaho after a summer of Lyle's internship (which means less money than previous summers, because I didn't have a job). We also figured, that if we can actually figure this whole "starting a family" thing out, we may not get a chance to do something that nice in the future.
It was so beautiful.
This is a picture of the breakfast I had at the lodge the next morning. They were french toast style croissants. It was amazing! I'm drooling just thinking about it. Sometime I will post the pictures of the most amazing dinner I have ever had. I have to get the picture from Lyle too. It was the best meal I have ever had.
I have always been more of a city girl. This is a picture of Bellevue as we are driving toward it from the south.
These are the anniversary flowers.
I probably already told you, but they were only $20. SERIOUSLY!
I'm sorry this post was sooooo long! But at least I am caught up to October. There are quite a few things to share from October too, so there is more to come!

Lyle also got me chocolates and flowers. There is a place in Bellevue called "Oh! Chocolate" and it really deserves that name. :)
Salted Caramel........yummmmmm
