Oh, boy.... two blog posts last year! Only two! Haha...that has to be a new record, but not a good one. :) I think my resolution for this year will be to post at least 3 times. That should be doable, right?
Where did 2014 go? It seems like time just flew by. We did have a great year and just to prove that we actually did something this last year, here is a recap of our 2014.
January...
started off with a cold. Which is strange. It seems I was sick multiple times this year, which is highly unusual for me. We went to a movie, although I could not begin to tell you which movie. There were also plenty of Puppy Snuggles....this year had lots of puppy snuggles. Be prepared for lots of Mack Pics.
February...
brought us the 3rd or 4th time we have seen snow out here. For a person who lived in a very snowy area for 20+ years of my life, the lack of snow is a beautiful change. It was a pretty slow month.
March...
is gorgeous. Seriously, this is what March looks like here. Compared to the cold barren waste land that is Idaho in March, it's a beautiful place! (I still love Idaho, but how can you say no to this?)
April...
is the month of birthdays for us. Lyle, Mom B, Dad B, Tyrel, Bryan, and Kimberly.....all April birthdays. It's usually a month when we take it easy and do lots of cheap things, since we buy lots of presents. It also usually marks the start of our little balcony garden (which has grown surprisingly large over the years).
May...
two words: African Daisies. I LOVE them. They are my absolute favorite. Also, Bryan came to visit and we took him to Molly Moon's, another of my favorites. By the way, the habanero cookie dough ice cream? It's the bomb! (Do people still say that?) We started taking Mack on hikes too.
June...
took us to Idaho for my dad's retirement celebration and brought Amy out for a visit. We had a lot of fun time with family. We did the underground tour of Seattle with Amy, discovered a fantastic sandwich shop near Pioneer Square, and plenty of other fun things.
July...
oh, July. This is the most perfect month of the year, in Seattle. The sun is out, the weather is perfect, and Blueberry season begins! We LOVE to go pick blueberries up at Mountain View Blueberry Farm. They are a good price, fresh, and just wonderful. We buy about 10lbs at a time and buy them multiple times a year. It was also Mack's 1 year birthday. He is such a sweet dog and we have loved having him as part of our family.
August...
really, the blueberries. In August we took advantage of all that the area has to offer. Hikes, fruit picking, walks at the beach, etc. Oh! And my other most favorite flower? The Dahlia. So many beautiful dahlias everywhere!
September...
is a wonderful month. My birthday and our wedding anniversary fall in September, so I feel like I get especially spoiled during this month. Lyle got me an ice cream cake for my birthday (yum!) and we got a Silhouette Cameo for our anniversary. Lyle knows me so well.
October...
was a mostly uneventful month. My primary children had their program and gave me a fun thank you card. Mack did not love his Dragon costume, we carved some pumpkins, and the leaves started changing.
November...
is beautiful and a little rainy. The fall in Seattle lasts much longer than in Idaho. :) The leaves were still changing well into November and the air was just starting to get cold. Mack got a new jacket, which he was also not happy about. Bryan came to visit for Thanksgiving and we took him to Fran's (aka: the best chocolate place in the world).
December...
was crazy! My sweet visiting teachers gave me this super soft green blanket. Mack promptly stole it and now spends his days snuggled up on it. Bryan came to visit for Christmas and Mack was excited to have his best buddy back. We made lots of cookies for "neighbor" gifts and did lots of other baking too. Lots and lots of baking.
We had a great 2014 and hope that you all did too! There were many ups and many downs, but we made it through intact. May your 2015 be filled with love, happiness, and lots of laughter. We have high hopes for this next year and will hopefully keep you better updated on our lives. :)
Here is another picture of Mack, just because.
